MLB put your money where your mouth is...

Now that MLB is showing an interest in getting a stadium deal done in Miami, perhaps it's time for that organization to step up to the plate (pun intended) financially.

When Jeffrey Loria wanted out of Montreal, MLB bent over backwards to accommodate him. They lent him money to purchase the Marlins and purchased the Expos from him. Both were unprecedented actions.

MLB bought the Expos for $150 Million in 2002 and recently sold the club for $450 million. I think they can afford to put up the money for the stadium funding shortfall (estimated at $100 million). If MLB could own a team for 4 years why couldn't it own part of a ballpark for 30?
